After Righteousness

If only they knew that food would not satisfy the hunger in them.  Only Jesus Christ can do that completely.  He is the one whom we should be fasting after.  He is the bridegroom whose return we are waiting for.  When Jesus was asked why his follower did not fast he responded by saying “you cannot make the attendants of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them, can you?  But the day will come; and when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days.” (Luke 5:34-35)  When we as Christians fast, we do so in glad expectation not of the feast to follow but of the return of our Lord.  How can the YOU of all Moslms worldwide be expected to understand that blessing comes from hungering and thirsting after the true righteousness that Jesus Christ offers us… when they have never heard His name, when they don’t even know that one day the Bridegroom could be returning for them.  Please pray that even during this Roza Heyt festival the people here would turn and direct their hunger toward the only thing that can really satisfy.
