Too Much Stuff

Last week, a friend and I, while out of the country, stopped by the storage facility where they keep all the YOU resources.  They have Bible portions, worship song books, prayer books, tracts, and discipleship material all translated into YOU.  It’s hard to stand in that warehouse and not want to take back a hundred copies of everything.  It’s sad to see it all just sitting there when we really want it in the hands of YOU speakers who want to know more about Jesus. But we need people willing to carry it in. We looked at our suitcases and luggage allowances and tried to estimate how much we could carry without getting caught at the border.  My travel companion seemed a little over zealous in his desire to take things back and, sure enough, he got flagged going through customs.  I tried to wait outside for him but was told to keep moving.  All I could do was pray. His computer bag, duffle and suitcase were all loaded with incriminating material.  Thankfully, the top layer of books was in English, items he had picked up at the leadership convention we went to.  The officers must have been lazy because, when they saw it was a language they couldn’t read, they waved him through without digging any deeper.   PTL- we made it through and now there are more copies of God’s Word in country.
