In my February letter I wrote “One Penny: it doesn’t seem like that
big of a deal. We all have a ton of pennies rolling around in our spare change
drawer, filling the ash trays of our cars, and weighing down our wallets. But,
what if I told you that each one of those pennies could equal one YOU person
reading the Bible and coming in contact with the Word of God for the first time
in their lives?”
Thank you to everyone who
took up this challenge and saved their pennies and other loose change. As one boy in a Sunday school class asked,
“Do we just have to save pennies; or can we save dimes too? They are more money.” It took several trips to the bank’s sorting
machine to get a grand total. At 1 cent
per ad, you guys have paid for 119,000 YOU people to read the Bible
($1,190).
In a recent update from the
media office, they said that, since the site was first launched nine months
ago, over 22,000 people have chosen to download a copy of the YOU Bible for
themselves. Pray that the Word of God
would make those who, for the first time ever, have a copy in their mother
language, wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus ( 2 Tim 3:15).
