Singing Their Own Songs

I have a U believing friend who lives in the provincial capital, she has been following Him for almost two decades and is seen as a leader in the faith community.  As I stood in her kitchen a few months ago, catching up on life and her family she told me of a recent trip she had made to villages that surround my city.  She had been invited to come teach the word.  When she arrived in these several different home group meetings she was awed and filled with praise at the number of people packed into one small living room.  Young and old, men and women, standing and worshiping him together.  Their praise was sincere and many of the songs that they sang in U were new to her, since these followers had written them themselves.  It seems that while we have been standing and praising Him in this city He has used the bold witness of others, from the majority people group – who are often seen as the enemy, to fight the battle and bring lives to Him.  It is hard to put a number on this sort of thing and say with certainty how many are now following Him, but it is a huge answer just to consider one household pack with worshipers, much less the multiple places she visited and taught from the word.
