One afternoon one of the ladies from the factory stopped by
our house for tea. As we were chatting,
one of her comments prompted my roommate to start sharing the story of the
woman who had the issue of blood and touch His robe for healing. The woman was amazed by the tale, so we
pulled out the book so she could see for herself. Understandably she was a little freightened
at first, checking its publication location, and reminding us that we should
not have such books in our home, we could get in serious trouble. She scolded us not to bring it out in front
of other neighbours in case they turn us in.
But once the book was in her hand there was no turning back. We showed her were the story was we had just
talk about. She read it aloud to us, and
then just kept reading. She read about
the feeding of the five thousand, people getting healed, she even read the
beheading of John. For five chapters
straight she clutched the book to her breast and read. You could tell how attracted she was to the
saying and Works of Him. Since then she
has come back a couple of times to read more.
A week later when I went to the factory to tell the women of
my plans to leave for a few months, there were many tears. Several of them piped up this alternative
ways I could treat my arthritis that could be achieved right here, without
having to go away. None of their pigeon
blood or fire treatments sounded plausible to me, but I tried to patiently
listen and thank them for their concern.
Finally this women boldly announced to her fellow workmates, many who
are family, “no what we really need to
do is pray to J and ask Him to heal her.
He is very powerful,” She than
turned her palms upward and lead them all in prayer murmuring the name of J over
and over. Praise the Lrd the ladies at
work are starting to learn more than just peeling carrots, they are starting to
see how our faith impacts our life.
