Personal Update

At the end of November, I went for a checkup at my orthopedic surgeon and was shocked to learn that, while I seemed to be doing well physically, my hip replacements are not. As some of you may know, at the age of 18, I had both of my hips completely replaced, a surgery that, not only got me out of my wheelchair, but by, God’s grace, provided me with the strength to serve Him overseas for the last 15 years. The doctor said I am bordering on catastrophic failure–the state in which the replaced joint is completely worn through. The doctor wants to schedule re-replacement surgery sometime the beginning of the year, pending COVID hospital restrictions. This will mean many months of physical therapy.
