Serving Alongside

Shortly after connecting with my believer friend in the neighbourhood, she dropped a delightful surprise on me: she belongs to a pr@yer group that gathers every Tuesday in the apartment right across the lane from mine! It blew me away to think about—every person or car entering our neighbourhood passes between two homes continually lifting them up in pr@yer. It’s such a tangible picture of "entering His gates with thanksgiving," and it has deeply renewed my own heart for pr@ying over this street.

To make it even better, this group—a vibrant, diverse mix of ages and ethnicities—doesn't stop at pr@yer. Once a week, they cook hot meals together and deliver them directly to our unhoused neighbours. The local body here is so beautifully, practically alive with His love.

I had another sweet opportunity to partner with the local chrch when a woman from my boss's fellowship reached out to us. She works with a crisis pregnancy group, coming alongside vulnerable mothers with job training and practical support so they feel equipped to keep their babies. She invited our craft company to lead a "master class" teaching these young moms how to make handcrafted felt toys.

My wilderness heart had felt watered by being welcomed into these pre-existing outreaches—witnessing firsthand how the Father is already moving in this place, and getting to serve alongside our local family.
