Working with an Employee

The beginning of May saw our team take two huge steps forward with the media project.

First, we started going through weekly coaching with an organization called Media to Movement.  They are offering training on how to use social media as a means of good news proclamation and how to take it one step further and encourage those who follow your site to start meeting in person and studying the word together.  I am thankful for this organizations vision.  Our coach is continually reminding us that it must go beyond pretty pictures and felt need advertisements on the internet, to actual life changing discipleship.  The coaching itself can be demanding on my schedule, with weekly homework assignments and such.

Second, we also hired our first a full-time local employee.  He is a brother in Him, who has been following Father for over 15 years and has even taken some Seminary classes. He speaks excellent English, Russian and U and is a nice and laid-back guy.  But as head of this project, it is my job to manage him, a task that is made more difficult by the gender divide and by distance.  While the two cities are only a little over 230km away, they are in two different countries, between cross the border and driving over the mountains it can seem like quite the trip.  We have been doing most of our meetings online and having to depend on poor internet.

It is exciting to be making definite steps forward, but we have encountered several growing pains along the way and need to continually seek His hand to give us grace in working together and understanding one another.

Currently the funds for our employees monthly salary ( $1000 USD) are coming out of my own personal support account.  We have opened a project funds account at the Canadian office, if this is something you feel lead to contribute to.  The account number is P2200
