Mid December I took an early morning flight with one of my teammates. The comfiness of our business class seats was forgotten as my attention was focused on her. She was in need of emergency surgery to remove her gallbladder. Even the expat doctors who work in the international clinic suggested to leave the country to find better medical help. By the time the insurance company had made all the arrangements for our flight, my friend had been unable to eat for several days. She was in severe pain as we flew towards help. I felt the weight of travelling as a companion to someone so sick. As soon as we landed, we dropped our bags at the hotel and went straight to the emergency room. I am so thankful to report the surgery was successful and a week later she was given a clean bill of health to fly home. Even this simple act of care has opened doors with local women who can’t understand how two people who have only been friends for a few months would care so deeply for each other in a time of need. “They will know we are His by our Love”
