Several
other U workers are also pleasantly placed back in Canada
for the time being. In order to be an encouragement to each other, we have started
to have regular Zoom calls. These times also allow us to pray together for our
people group and related concerns. In the past few months, a shipment of U Bibles
had to quickly get moved from their storage location. The warehouse in which
they were stored was located in a city that has become very heated by
government pressure. Those responsible for keeping them knew they might easily
get caught and the books might be confiscated or destroyed. We have seen these
prayers answered as a new storage facility was secured in the States and the
books are in transit now.
On
other evenings, workers have shared their fears about re-engaging the U
diaspora community in Canada
because they are not overly mindful of social distancing and other health
guidelines. My co-workers worry about the risk that presents to their own
elderly and vulnerable family members. It is good to spend our call time
seeking His wisdom. Recently, we also rejoiced with one guy in Canada who has not only been meeting with U
immigrants, but saw two of them come to faith and decided to be baptized.
Praise God that the work is continuing.
