I am excited about the process our team is currently trying when it comes to considering each month what we will post on our new social media account. We start by choosing a topic that we know has come up several times in conversations with our friends, so far, we have covered joy, death, health and money. For the first two weeks of the month, we encourage all our teammates to go out and have as many conversations as they can on the topic. In these conversations we want to take on the posture of a learning... asking lots of questions to determine what the felt need is-- what in this topic gets to the very heart of how our U friends think and feel.
What we learn from our conversations that drives us to the Word. Each person attempts to write one felt need post that uses a story from the prophets to exemplify how God views the same topic. Currently we are trying to publish 4 new posts a week. One is a felt need post that has come out of our conversations, one is a question of the week. We also have a U word of the week. Many of the U in our community don’t speak their native language very well, but many have expressed interest to learn, therefore each week we choose one word related to our broader topic then we give an example of how that word was used by the prophets. We also have a post a week teaching a name of God.
Four posts a week is an ambitious start, but we praise Him for the results that we are starting to see. Already we have close to 600 followers. We have had over 50 people write in to our site, and some were hostile. Please keep praying for the local believers who are the ones responding to these comments. They are daily in need of His wisdom on how to guide conversation back to the Word.
