Dreams Leading to Jesus!

 I know a few years ago when I spent a time serving with my current team, I learned more U swear words in one day because of people’s negative response to the Word. That personal experience made hearing this story a colleague of ours recently shared about the testimony of a U believer even more dear. It is a poignant reminder for us to persevere in our work. 

 “Abdullah had grown up in a deeply Islamic community, performing Islamic prayers 5 times daily. One day he read an online forum about a Christian website in the U language. Many were complaining about it and asking how to have it removed. Curious, he visited the site himself and downloaded a portion of the Bible. Noticing a contact address, he wrote asking for a copy of the U Bible, which was received not long after. His purpose was to compare it to the Quran and discover for himself the portions that had been changed. It was surprising to discover that what he had been told about Jesus was, in fact, not true. To the contrary, as he scoured the Quran he discovered confirmation that Jesus was in fact born of the Holy Spirit and that it was HE who would return to judge the world. His faith in Islam began to falter. Following local U Muslim tradition, he prayed a special prayer asking for a sign. Over the course of the next three nights, he had dreams very clearly pointing to Jesus. Each of the first two mornings he woke up, refusing to receive the dream as a sign from Allah. How could he leave the faith he’d believed his whole life? It was only after the third consecutive night with the same dream that he woke up, and subsequently acknowledged Jesus as Saviour and decided to follow him.” 

We have a strong sense that even negative attention to our smartphone app, website, and social media presence is still exposing many to God’s Word for the first time. Over many years, we have strived to make the Bible available, whether by hard copy, SD card, DVD, mp3 player, radio, or Internet.
