Hello from the Eleanor’s Garden Family!
Winter is still hanging around (as evidenced by the light falling of snow just two days ago), but we see signs of spring and are hopeful that it is almost here. There is just something hopeful and joyful and life-giving about the coming of spring, and we trust that there is much to look forward to as the new season comes!
Our fire inspection certificate – we now have it in our hands! And… we heard that we are actually the first factory in our business district to actually complete requirements, pass inspections, and receive it. We are very thankful!
Last time you heard from us, we were waiting to get the barcode for our pouches. We are happy to say that we now have them. It took a little longer than we thought, but we now have 6 barcodes for our 6 flavors! As far as our raw ingredients, we have now added dates and dried apricots to the apples and pears in our cold storage, and we are so grateful! Please specifically ask that we would be able to secure organic sweet potatoes and carrots in the next few weeks and get them shipped quickly and in good condition to the factory. This process is very weather sensitive, as it will be a several day journey and the sweet potatoes are very sensitive to both cold and heat. Our current plan would be to start with our two simplest recipes in the next month or so, but we need these two ingredients before we are able to begin production.
Health issues seem to continue to come up, whether it is a local employee unable to get their food handling health card, parents or spouses of employees in the hospital, or what seems like the never-ending stream of colds and other sicknesses that can just be part of life here. Would you ask with us for healing, and that we would know how to use every one of these situations to love and be light and to bring glory to the Father?
We are getting more pointed questions about when we will start producing from many, which puts the pressure on a little bit. And the current climate here is not one that is very relaxed. Security has become a little more tight in the area over the last weeks, so we would appreciate you joining in asking that we would be able to start production soon, that in the meantime there would be no unnecessary pressure from those in charge, and most of all that the peace that can only come from Him would reign in us and in this place. Ask that we would shine as ones who offer peace in the midst of tension and unrest. We want our faith and trust in Him to be unshaken as we serve Him with joy in this place that he has given us the privilege of living in!
