EGBF April 2016 Update

After a couple of months of spending a lot of time at the factory testing out our recipes, this past month there has been much less time in a work uniform and much more time sitting in front of computers. We are anxious to complete all of the administrative tasks in front of us that are very necessary, but not near as exciting, as being at the factory. We have made progress this month in tweaking and finalizing some of the details of our recipes, as well as continuing to work on getting our website and social media accounts up and running as well as working on many ongoing tasks. It feels like there are an endless number of tasks that need to be finished, and we need the Father’s help to persevere in finishing them as we look toward the time (hopefully in the very near future!) when we will be able to start full-time production.

One of the most crucial tasks that we need to complete is finding organic farmers who can provide each of our fruits and vegetables. We need to have contracts with suppliers for our raw ingredients before our application for our food production license certification can continue, so this is quite a time-sensitive issue. We not only need to sign contracts for our certification, but we would really like the relationships that we have with these suppliers to be good, long-term relationships. We also need suppliers who are reliable and who we can trust. We have recently had a couple of what we felt were fairly solid relationships fall through. Would you ask with us that we would quickly find these kind of farmers to supply our organic ingredients and that our food production license process would continue and be completed very soon? We also have several other licenses that we will need to begin the process of applying for once we have our food production license.

One of the most exciting things that have happened in the past month is the life that can be seen at the factory. During March, a lot of seeds, trees, and bushes were planted. Now there are buds of life being seen everywhere!! From growing walnuts on trees and buds on pomegranate bushes to sunflowers coming out of the ground, life can be seen coming out of what (even just a few weeks ago) seemed very dead and nothing more than dry sand and dust. We are reminded again that life can come out of places that seem impossible sources, and it gives us hope that the source of all life is working and will continue to work in this place through what he is doing at Eleanor’s Garden.
